Day 3: Freedom to vote

What a day America, What. A. Day!
I am so blessed to live in a country where I am FREE. Free to worship what I believe, free to voice how I feel, free to reach my full potential, free to eat how ever much pumpkin flavored things I choose, free to dream, & free to be me! Today was my first ever chance to vote in a presidential election (so that's huge!!!) I'm so thankful for the freedom to be heard and make a stand on what I believe to be best for our Country's future. I consider this to be one of the biggest elections in Americas history. From today on, we either grow and progress, (deal with all the problems Obama has created) and live the American Dream formed by our founding fathers through God. or we change direction completely and lose our power of being one of the greatest Nations in the world today as we become slaves to our government and sink deeper and deeper into economic distress. I have pretty strong feelings about this election, and fully support Mitt Romney as our future President. Like, i'm seriously having an anxiety attack waiting on this election. I can't decide if I should just go to bed, and wake up hoping it's christmas morning and Romney won! or who knows, I probably wouldn't be able to sleep knowing the fate of our Country could be announced at any second through the night! I can't just not know! ya know!? What a huge day for America. Get out & Vote!

GUYS, I voted.

Day 2: lunch dates with my Mom

I'm not sure what it is about going to lunch with your mom, but it's always just so fun! Today's lunch date was at kneaders, I'm a sucker for anywhere that has soup or salad. Our usuals are kneaders & Zupas. Lets be honest, we girls love the stuff. And you can always try and keep it low cal at places like these. Anyways, now that I'm living away from home, these days mean a lot more. My mom is my very best friend, I can talk to her about anything. So I look forward to the times we can indulge in some yummy soup & catch up on each others lives. I don't know what I would do with out her, and speaking of things I couldn't live with out, add tomato basil pesto soup to the list. Thankful for days like these.

30 days of Thanksgiving

I have mixed feelings about church today. Testimony meeting was amazing. I love when there is a theme and correlation between everyones testimonies because it shows everyone goes through hard times and are still learning and growing in the gospel. We're all here, learning to become the best we can be. It's comforting to know we're not the odd man out, all alone. Others are right along side us learning the same lessons we are. Sunday School....probably one of the oddest forms of gospel doctrine I've ever attended. I'm not sure if I was in a chemistry class...or learning about the gospel. I did however learn the law of conservation(?) I think...and how to combine different compounds to create salt.  Our teacher knew more about salt then the average human, i'm just saying. I just never heard or found what connected everything we learned about salt with the gospel. Tracie didn't even know, and Trace is the smartest person I know (room mate). you'll get to know her really well. Relief Society helped get us back on the spiritual track. I got to read a paragraph all about gratitude, and how being grateful and counting our blessings can really help us through difficult times. So I remembered how negative my last post was, which I kind of took to be more of a joke but still! That day was seriously horrible!  I definitely noticed all the things going wrong & I think that if I had counted my blessings and realized all the things God blessed me with that day, then that day would have effected me very differently and more positively. So in honor thanksgiving, I decided to jump on the band wagon and blog something I'm thankful for everyday!

Day 1. My freaking amazing room mates/ BFFs

seriously, these girls are amazing, and I'm so lucky I get to be with them everyday.

Tracie, this chick is CRAY! And I mean that in the nicest way possible. Tracie is crazy fun. All the time, except she basically lives in the BYU library. I miss her when she's studying! Especially since I have nothing to study like my smarty pants room mates.
She's always there's to calm me down and listen to my guy problems. Which happens on a daily basis. She's such a good sport. She's also a twin (with another one of my Bff's..he's insane) which is neat right?!
I can talk to Trace about anything and know she'll take it seriously and give me the best advice. She understands my shopping addiction (probably, at least she pretends to understand ha) and she never complains when I wake her up at 1 AM to ask her which color of scarf I should order.
I can always count on her to go running with me when I feel the random need to get in shape. We have similar running paces so when jess leaves us in the dust we always have each other.
Love her.

Jessica has been dubbed Mom of the apartment for obvious reasons. This girl can cook. She had a whole week dedicated to all things pumpkin (heaven am i right). Pumpkin bars, pumpkin rolls, pumpkin soup, pumpkin breadsticks. Why can't every week be pumpkin week!? We also share a deep love for muddy buddies (we may or may not have just finished a whole bowl in one sitting...5 seconds ago). Its fast sunday today, so it's ok.
She's also enjoys insane amounts of running..i'm talking close to 10 miles just for fun. Watch out Jess, ur crazy is showing. She's definitely the health nut out of us 3, so she's an inspiration to us all.
She recently underwent bunion surgery and has a cast and handicapped sticker and has recently acquired the nickname handy. and she loves it.

God has blessed me with 2 of the greatest friends in the world and Im thankful for their love, their friendship, their testimonies, and individual personalities everyday.

MUAH! RABF for life.

24.10.12

Just another one of THOSE days.

Today actually started off super great, always love a good day at Shep Studio. After standing for 10 hours however, is like death to your feet. Seriously, my mom always tries to talk me into getting Dr. Scholls work shoes, and i'm like this. Do you want me to die alone!? I'd rather be caught dead mother. I don't even know how to go about comprehending how to put an outfit together wearing those bad boys. Bless her heart. I know she loves me. So anyways, by the end of the day i'm totally worn out, and unable to deal with everything cuz i'm already dealing with daggers in my feet. So then everything starts to annoy me, like the girls huge nappy weft of extensions that takes me an hour to blowdry, & yah that could be annoying to anyone. Then it's cold and dark outside, when just last week i swear walking out at 7 still meant warmth and sunshine. Not so. But whatever, i got over that by wearing a cute scarf. My trip to the grocery store after work really put me over the edge. & usually I love the grocery store, the thrill of knowing you're going to actually have food to eat is always a good feeling! (Warning: it's about it get real up in here). First of all, the produce section was a good 85% out of anything. Not even carrots, what is that about!? so i settled on a bag of lettuce and some 3" inch bananas. I decide it's a good idea to buy oreos. wrong, I had the bag open before I even got to my car and I have already eaten 5. 2 is my limit so you know it's a bad day. Then everyone in the parking lot doesn't know how to drive and a guy walks in front of me in boxers and flipflops. That really put me over the top, doesn't he realize it's basically winter!? please sir. dress appropriately. Finally home & i'm all packed up with 5 bags on each arm about to fall over, about to start my trek up 3 flights of stairs when wait, what's this!? some smart guy decided right in front of the stairs was the perfect spot to park their bike. I'm surprised I didn't break anything or fall over cuz it seemed like the logical thing to happen. But I survived and I'm ready for a new, fresh, unannoying day. Can't wait!
I'm totally aware i'm a crazy person, it was just one of those days.

Alex, I totally get u.

29.7.12

just another out of the blue post.

I have not posted in forever, and what better time to start a post at 12:22 am?! Right!? right.
Basically life is going wonderful! & turns out summer is 2/3 over? wait what?! (I noticed I always seem to decide it's a good time to write on my blog again at the change of seasons. maybe to help myself ease into the new change.) Although I am excited my favorite season of the year is on it's way. I just wish I could hold on to summer a little bit longer. ya know!? But with the end of the summer, comes a new journey. I'm moving back to provo. Couldn't be more excited! Especially the fact that I can sleep in a lil extra amount in the mornings instead of driving 30 minutes of my sleeping time! k yay!
Honestly I can't not post about how many wedding invites I have gotten this past week, and how many bridal showers all fall on the same day. i'm gonna throw a number out there, probably around 10 - 12.
and i'm just over here like, i like food.  Which works out good, since weddings always have the best food. Feed me. (still excited for all my friends though, 100 percent honest)
let me talk about a few things I love right now.
gel nails. for one they NEVER chip. and are always super shiny and perfect. need I go on.
freshly waxed eyebrows. smooth like a babies bottom. feels good and mine needed it BAD. My brows were beginning to reach my eyelid.
The yummy candle I found at target.  I bought it as a bridal shower gift (1/10 showers check) I'm at least buying two for myself, I can't get over how amazing it smelled. Target has everything great.
& that is all.

dying over this.

whats on my mind as of late.

bored. boooored. bordeyboredBORED.

All I want is to move to Arizona where it's warm and get a Sprinkles Cupcake. I love cupcakes! mmm cupcakes... &&& also today was unreal amazing outside, like I was in winter heaven cuz it wasn't even winter...is it spring yet? just saying I am so over this, bring on summer and late nights where I can be outside and NOT WEAR A JACKET. Last night my friends decided to pretend it wasn't the middle of winter and played foursquare. You can't just break out a game of foursquare when there is snow on the ground...but it actually turned out to be one of the funnest things I've done all week. I've worked 4, 10 hour days this week and another tomorrow. Don't know how my feet are still attached to my body. But it's totally worth every second. I've made so many new friends at the Salon & I look forward to seeing them everyday! Bring on tomorrow (:
xoxo B.

(so what you got a crew? I got a crew too)
Just in case everyone wasn't aware, our family is a teensy taddsies, kind of a big amount obsessed with Disneyland. Like, I'd refer to it as my second home. I've gone for Thanksgiving, a few days in december & I just got home from a whole entire amazing week full of wonder and fun and seriously AMAZING WEATHER. 80 degrees in winter!? that's like my dream come true. I'm dying in this cold, I should just move in to disneyland and always be warm and happy. Anyways, it was amazing to get away with the family and cousins. We always do Disney right & I didn't even get sick of it at all... Except the feet were for sures over it by thursday. I'm already planning my next trip, April 21st here I come!

Happy Valentines Day

I've never gotten flowers on Valentines before (..at least I can't remember & no my dads don't count in this case..), and I defs didn't expect any this year! But my dad surprised me with some, at first I thought they were from him..again.. trying to ease the pain of the special day when I don't have a special someone..again ha, but they weren't even from him!! After sitting in confusion for a second, I found out they were from my friend Sam is on his mission! He still thought to send me flowers and a cute letter from Mississippi!! What the cutest thing ever?! He's suuuuuch a sweet heart! What a stud. (:
Thanks Elder Sherriff, You made my day!

Eye C U

OK. my eye has been non stop twitching for like 4 days. it's seriously the most annoying thing in the world. so of course I googled it, & i found out it doesn't have anything relatable to a disease that could kill me. phewf. Eye twitching can stick around for weeks, or even months! UM no this has to go away ASAP or I'll go crazzzy.

To find a solution for twitching eyes, we needed to determine the underlying cause of this annoying problem. Called myokymia in doctor lingo, these rippling muscle contractions in an eyelid can be triggered by:

  • Stress
  • Tiredness
  • Eye strain
  • Caffeine
  • Alcohol
  • Dry eyes
  • Nutritional imbalances
  • Allergies
But which one is it? (besides alcohol duh)

When one door closes....

You know what they say..."When you put God first, All other things fall into their proper place" I really feel like everything in my life is working out perfectly! For a while, I was pretty down and sad because what I really wanted most wasn't working out. & It hasn't. But I know that it didn't work out because God has something even better in store, and I can already see his hand in my life guiding me on a path that will make me most happy. I came accross an EFY counselor application yesterday and was able to fill everything out and apply last night. (I'll let you know how it goes). I signed my apartment contract yesterday and I'll be rooming with 2 of my very best friends from high school in August. & I'm almost done with my BYU application. I'm telling you, this isn't all coincidence. I know God has a plan for me, and i'm excited for all that lies ahead of me. (:

23.1.12

holy stress attack.

I'm APPLYING FOR BYU!
Yesterday was kind of a glum day. I kind of just felt like my life was NOT even going anywhere, and just kind of boring! & so I've been trying to figure out what I could do to change that! & this morning my mom woke me up & told me to go back to BYU..which sounds like exactly what I need. & so it got me all excited then I found out I only have a WEEK! 1 JUST 1! to get my application in, ecclesiastical endorsements, essays, transcripts & all! But so far it's working out (:
After trying to track down a phone number I finally got it, I figured everything out with sending transcripts, & I have some really good ideas for my essays. I think this decision was inspired, I know that I was supposed to be at BYU when I was there before & so I think that's where I'm supposed to be again. Don't worry, i'm not giving up hair. I love hair!! & I'm not giving up that dream, just expanding a little bit. Wish me luck!

22.1.12

& so it begins.

I think I finally figured out a way to be more healthy & lose the weight I've wanted to for years! Granted, it's not much..only 15 ish pounds. but still, the last 10 or so is ALWAYS the hardest. & I could definitely get used to eating less homemade shakes everyday. That's the first thing to go! I just want to be the best me that I can be! & the way I'm going to do it is through a fitness blog. Somewhere I am able to write down my goals, and watch as I progress day by day towards those goals. Plus it helps to write down tips or tricks I learn along the way. I decided it was about time I started since I'm going to Hawaii in a few short months, and that means lots of time in a swimsuit. If that's not enough motivation I don't know what is!? & SO IT BEGINS.
follow my progress & find new healthy tricks at goodbyelovehandles.blogspot.com

I just had the sudden urge to buy some MAC eyeshadow. Like major urge. & I have this craving for H&M. Now that I finally have a job and a paycheck, I can finally go!! I love being able to afford things. I'll be sure to blog my new purchases.

I know this is so unfair, but so motivating, but $$$ to lose 15 lbs? You have yourself a deal my friend&dad. I have all this energy to eat less and work out more (i'm going to have to cut back on my daily home made shakes)...but Im gonna do it, then i'm going to go buy some MAC and clothes. mmmmyup

Live in the moment!

Another chapter is opening in my life. I'm officially done with school..(have been for a couple months), and as much as I hate to say it, I miss school! I miss everyone.

Some of my best memories and friendships were made that year at TA..but the best part about it is.. I'll always have them.

I'll always have those lessons & trials I learned from to shape me into who I am today.

I'll forever have the skills I learned as I continue in my dream of being a hairstylist.

I'll always have those dear friends I could tell any secret to.

& I'll always treasure the memories I made.

I'm excited for all the adventures that lay ahead...falling in love, making new friendships, the last twilight movie (:, working in a salon, failing & succeeding, strengthening my testimony, taking those important steps into adulthood, and making new memories to add to the old. I'm excited for all that lies ahead, and for the blessings God has in store for me.

‎"As a new year begins and we try to benefit from a proper view of what has gone before, I plead with you not to dwell on days now gone nor to yearn vainly for yesterdays, however good those yesterdays may have been. The past is to be learned from but not lived in. We look back to claim the embers from glowing experiences but not the ashes. And when we have learned what we need to learn and have brought with us the best that we have experienced, then we look ahead and remember that faith is always pointed toward the future." - Jeffrey R. Holland

I just want a regular diet coke.

20 minutes of pure joy.

New Year, New Goals.

& i'm like this..

Go to the temple once a week.

Grow out my hair. ha...yeah. but for reals.

Craft my brains out (pinterest anyone?).

Lose 15 lbs..as I stuff my face with popcorn.

Make a new friend every day.

Work in a salon.

Live what I believe: SERVE, SERVE, SERVE!

Learn to cook.

Finish a full tube of chapstick.

keep my room clean for a full year.possible?

xoxo
